During Milan Design Week 2023, at Superstudio Più, Sapiens Design Studio unveils its new collection “Beyond the Edge”, designed for Pollini Home.

Selected by Superstudio Più’s artistic direction as part of “Unexpected Objects”, the new Pollini Home collection surprises with its unconventional use of porcelain stoneware.

“Beyond the Edge” is a furniture series crafted through an innovative thermoforming process applied to large-format porcelain slabs, enabling them to bend into curves. This proprietary technique—exclusive to the brand—opens unexpected possibilities for porcelain stoneware, pushing beyond the traditional limits of flat surfaces and rigid geometries. Instead, the collection embraces fluid, enveloping forms, featuring cylindrical elements, soft curves, and seamless transitions.

Sapiens Design Studio also designs the exhibition space, carefully curated to emphasize the shift from flat slabs to sculptural, curved surfaces.
