Liffo, designed and produced by Robomagister srl, an Emilian company with a strong inclination for innovation, is the first fully autonomous domestic kitchen robot equipped with AI. A Personal Chef capable of preparing dishes without any need for supervision.
In collaboration with Stefano Lodesani Studio, we worked on the development of its design, with a precise goal: to give a highly technological product a reassuring appearance, capable of conveying familiarity, comfort, and warmth.
For this reason, Liffo draws inspiration from the theme of the domestic hearth, traditionally associated with the concept of family, security, and hospitality. The volumes defining the central body are broken down and overlapped, creating a totem of regular concentric shapes. The rounded forms are balanced by sharp and precise lines, creating a play of shadows that dematerializes the volume.

A distinctive detail is the LED waistband, which wraps around Liffo’s body, serving not only as a visual interface with the user but also further segmenting the overlapping layers, emphasizing its structure through different inclinations. A visual nod to stacked dishes and cookware, suggesting the dynamism of meal preparation.
Finally, Liffo’s lid features two large handles, an iconic element that gives the robot an anthropomorphic appearance—with a friendly yet strong personality—making it instantly recognizable and an integral part of the kitchen.
Liffo is a project that reflects our vision of how design can make technology more accessible, functional, and, at the same time, closer to the everyday lives of its users.
